Other companies in the area charge by the pound to remove old computers and equipment. The Lake Geneva Schools also appreciates the timeliness with which Wisconsin Communities Recyclor pick up our equipment. They do not require a length spreadsheet listing serial numbers and approximate weights, or a rating scale on usability at time of disposal, etc... Last summer alone, Wisconsin Communities Recyclor picked up over 500 pieces of old equipment including keyboards, CRT monitors, typewriters, printers, switches, etc... from two locations. The employees were courteous and professional, and worked quickly to remove the items from the premises.

I understand Wisconsin Communities Recyclor does plenty of resale marketing with the collected items. They generally market to consumers who do not have the robust memory and hard drive space requirements our new machines have to operate efficiently in our schools. These agencies also are getting by with limited funds and appreciate being able to buy reconditioned machines over brand new. Wisconsin Communities Recyclor also works with recycling programs funded at the State level to ensure proper handling of the recyclable plastics, and components which contain toxic materials.

We look forward to speak again with Dean Hammer and his associates at Wisconsin Communities Recyclor. The Lake Geneva Schools will continue to utilize this cost free and environmentally responsible non-profit organization in the future.
